About Us
Welcome to Cardiff & Vale Credit Union
Cardiff & Vale Credit Union is your award-winning credit union, operating for 30 years. We are a financial services co-operative that exists for the benefit of our members who have at least one of the following features in common:
- living in Wales
- working anywhere in Wales
- working for one of our 54 payroll savings & loans scheme employer partners
About Cardiff & Vale Credit Union
We now have over 10,000 adult and junior members of all ages and from all walks of life: each contributing to our local revolution for savings and loans. Our members enjoy the benefits of saving safely together and being able to borrow at an affordable rate of interest if the need arises (subject to affordability), as well as the benefit of knowing that saving with us is a great way to support their local community. Collectively we have saved local people thousands in loan interest compared to high interest lenders, and are on a mission to encourage all local people to join us.
Unlike banks, our only shareholders are our members who save with us, and any surplus (profits) we make are used to provide variable rate dividends to our savers, and to invest in the development of our services to you. We are actively involved in our communities, committed to contributing to our local economy and the financial wellbeing of all of our members.
We were the first Wales-based financial services provider to be awarded 5 star accreditation with the Fairbanking Foundation for the ethical features of our personal loans.
We have branches open Monday to Friday at 4 Working Street in Cardiff and at 174 Holton Road in Barry, and also have information points across both counties.
Why not join online today: become a member and join us in our local revolution for ethical savings and affordable loans!
Cardiff & Vale Credit Union is an independent organisation, part of a much wider international credit union movement, offering a 'fair trade' approach to savings and loans
