Schools Savings Schemes

In partnership with Cardiff Council, we now have 20 participating schools offering a weekly School Savers' Club to their pupils. With Welsh Government support, we are also developing the project with new schools in Vale of Glamorgan.

Please see our list of participating schools to see whether your school has a savers' club, and let us know if you would like your school to join the scheme.

Volunteering Opportunities 

We have a number of great volunteering opportunities across Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan, covering customer services, admin, project work and events.  See our volunteering page for more information.

Community Group & Small Charity Accounts 

We are currently running a small pilot for community group accounts. These accounts are available to small charities and community groups looking to deposit up to £5,000, who are registered members of Cardiff 3rd Sector Council or Vale Volunteer Bureau.

Rent Protect 

In partnership with Cardiff Council and some private landlords, we are currently offering a pilot scheme to help tenants ensure regular rent payments are made directly to their landlord. 

Our Rent Protect service enables eligible tenants to set up payments to participating landlords, direct from their credit union savings account. Funds required for rent payments are ring-fenced to ensure it is transferred directly by us to the landlord when it is due. There are no fees to tenants for this service, but a fee is charged to the landlord.

Any income can be paid into a credit union account, including salaries, benefits and pensions. Any money left in the account after the rent has been paid is available to tenants to save, or to withdraw by transferring into a bank account or onto our pre-paid debit card.
