Cardiff and Vale Credit Union Proudly Represented at House of Lords to Champion Inclusive Finance

Last week, our Chair, Dr Rhian Thomas, and CEO, Caroline Richardson, were invited to the House of Lords to support Assadaqaat Community Finance and their important work.

Assadaqaat Community Finance is helping to build a fairer financial system. Their model offers interest-free loans, mentoring, and skills training to support people in underserved communities. Their aim is to give more people the tools and opportunities to succeed in business and life, no matter their background.

We’re proud that Rhian and Caroline were there to represent not just Cardiff and Vale Credit Union, but credit unions everywhere. Their visit helped raise awareness of the role credit unions play in supporting local people and offering fair, affordable financial services.

It was a great opportunity to show what credit unions stand for—community, fairness, and financial inclusion.
